The Indian Housekeepers Club (IHC) has recently launched three short-term certificate courses on - hospitality operation & management, housekeeping operation & management, and laundry operation & management - keeping the weaker sections of the society in mind. The oldest and the largest association of housekeepers in the Indian hospitality sector, IHC believes that the short-term certificate courses will help students to get employment across the Indian hospitality industry in hotels, resorts, facilities, laundry department, etc. Not only that, but the association also offers training for their passed out students, as well as job placement after completion of the 3 months certificate course, which will be totally based upon the candidate’s merit.

The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) recently conducted second batch of the Fire Marshals Training programme for hotels and restaurants in the city. The training activity was held at the Mumbai Fire Brigade headquarters in Byculla and was conducted under the supervision of the Mumbai Fire Chief & Director - Directorate of Maharashtra Fire Services – Dr. Prabhat Rahangdale and team. More than 118 employees from several hotels and restaurants across the city received training on the different aspects of fire safety.

Sarovar Hotels and Resorts expand its presence in Delhi NCR with the signing of a new mid-scale hotel Sarovar Portico in Surajkund, Faridabad. The new hotel will be Sarovar's third hotel in Haryana after Gurugram and Faridabad. The 60 keys hotel has multiple banqueting and conferencing facilities with a capacity to accommodate 600 guests, multi-cuisine dining, and a wellness centre. The hotel is scheduled to open by the end of this year. Commenting on the development, Anil Madhok, Executive Chairman, Sarovar Hotels Pvt Ltd. says “We are delighted to expand our business and boundaries further in Delhi NCR. This is our 3rd hotel in the state of Haryana. With our focus on providing quality accommodation and services, priced attractively, the hotel will ensure a pleasant stay for all our guests travelling to this region”.

Suvarna has completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Culinary Arts from Hammersmith & West London College, England. With his 16 years’ experience in the industry, he has developed his repertoire to provide outstanding culinary experiences. With years of working in luxury hotels and restaurants in England, Singapore, and India, Chef Suvarna has acquired experience in various verticals of the food industry. Prior to joining the team at Le Méridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa, Suvarna served as Head Chef at Oasia Hotel Downtown, Singapore. Chef Suvarna will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the kitchen, designing menus, developing new recipes and training the culinary team at the hotel.
