Informa Markets in India hosts Food & Hotel India Expo 2019

Informa Markets in India recently hosted the second edition of the Food & Hotel India Expo (FHIn)- a B2B platform for the Food, Beverage & Hospitality industry at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

The expo was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Anurag Katriar, President, The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI). Other eminent personalities from the hospitality industry such as Param Kannampilli, Chairman and Managing Director Concept Hospitality; Special Guest Chef Manjit Singh Gill - Corporate Chef ITC & President IFCA; Thomas Schlitt, MD, Messe Dusseldorf India; Pankaj Shende, Senior Portfolio Director, Informa Markets in India and Abhijit Mukherjee, Group Director, Informa Markets in India, graced the event with their presence.

Themed on Food & Beverage and Hospitality trends, the expo was positioned to provide industry players an entire array of products and solutions pertaining to Food & Beverage, Tea & Coffee, Wine & Spirit, Sea Food, Meat, Bakery, Hospitality Technology and Interior Designs, Housekeeping, Tableware, Retail and Hospitality Food Services, and Commercial Kitchen Equipment under one giant umbrella.

The three day FHIn Expo offered an excellent opportunity for over 70 exhibitors and delegates from across 10 countries to network with top Hoteliers & Chefs, India's Leading Restaurant Chains, captains of the industry, top notch entrepreneurs, premium start up investors, global experts and other distinguished representatives.

Commenting about the growth of the expo, Abhijit Mukherjee, Group Director, Informa Markets in India said, "The first edition of this event was organised at the Sahara Star hotel. But this year, the responses were overwhelming, as more brands wanted to participate with us, leading us to shift the event to a bigger venue like NESCO. So, I can say this time we are bigger and better and have also added a lot of new features".



While pointing out the potential in Indian hospitality sector, Mukherjee added, "In my opinion the HoReCa sector has a lot of scope to do well. India as a country is growing rapidly when it comes to food business. It is also becoming an important ingredient hub for the export market as well. In the current scenario, this event makes its entry as a very appropriate and a very apt platform, where the stakeholders of the industry can speak to each other about the pressing issues of the industry. With the Indian economy opening up, lots of international companies are coming to India, who have also participated in this event."

The portfolio of the event was managed by Pankaj Shende, Senior Portfolio Director, Informa Markets in India. Shende commented, "Hospitality as a sector has so many categories such as packaged food, readymade curry, equipment, kitchen commercials, laundry equipment, etc. As a part of FHIn, we are providing a comprehensive platform where we are taking about all these categories. We are also organising a hospitality strategy summit which is focussed on the operational aspects and technology usage of hotels. Through the summit hospitality professionals will be sharing their thoughts and ideas about operational strategies and the latest technology trends in the hospitality industry".
