He brings with him over a decade of experience in curating authentic dining experiences and culinary dexterity. Chef Ablu’s current role includes keeping up with the latest trends and preferences of patrons in Kolkata and providing the most inventive culinary products in catering at Nori. He will also be responsible for the safe and seamless operations of the award-winning restaurant and for making The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat a gastronomic powerhouse.
His dream to become a chef was born at the tender age of fifteen, when he watched his mother prepare meals for his family, and the myriad of sounds and fragrances captivated his attention. Armed with a Diploma in Hotel Management from The American Hotel and Lodging Institute, his sheer dedication and commitment were stepping stones in his illustrious career. He has worked with top-of-the-line hotel brands like Pride Hotels, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Marriott International and has been trained under Japanese expert Chef Mayo and also Chef Zhangat, a Michelin star restaurant ZUMA, Miami. He has played an important role in multiple award-winning restaurants throughout his culinary tenure. In his most recent role at The Westin Garden City Mumbai as a junior sous chef, his responsibilities included crafting food promotions, organizing food festivals, team and inventory management as well as training.
