According to The Hindu, International Food and Beverage (F&B) brands like P.F. Chang’s, Wolfgang Puck, and James Martin Kitchen have made their India debut by opening outlets in Terminal 2 (T2) of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. These launches aim to familiarize Indian customers with these globally renowned names.
Pravat Paikray, Vice President of Commercial Development at Bengaluru International Airport Ltd, highlighted that these additions align with the airport’s vision to transform terminals into dynamic, premium spaces that boost non-aero revenues, including retail and F&B.
“Aero revenue is significant in India, but non-aero revenues are witnessing positive growth,” Paikray told *BusinessLine*. The airport currently hosts 82 F&B outlets, 67 retail stores, and two duty-free shops across both terminals. Paikray emphasized that the goal is to create an elevated, exclusive brand environment that enhances the customer experience.
With a daily footfall of 112,000 to 115,000 passengers, 80-85 percent of whom are domestic travelers, Bengaluru airport has seen a positive shift in the time passengers spend at T2 compared to Terminal 1 (T1). The new offerings have encouraged travelers to plan visits that include more time for shopping and dining.
Currently, T2 houses over 80 commercial outlets, with an additional 40 in the pipeline.
