“On this occasion, we recognised several personalities from Bengal who have contributed significantly to the social and economic progress of the state at the grassroots level. This included a humble stalwart named Naren Hansda who quietly takes care of 51 orphan children in the Ajodhya Hills area near Purulia, Dr. Phalguni Mukhopadhay who has founded INHANA, an organisation dedicated to sustainable agriculture without an increase in costs of production and no loss in crop cycles, and the “ceramic couple” Swapna and Mukta Jana who have dedicated their life to teaching and propagating the ancient art of pottery to students from Bengal,” quoted a release.

Besides this, UDAAN also showcased the contribution of several personalities from the hospitality procurement profession who have contributed significantly to this profession in Bengal.

HPMF had launched its plan of action under UDAAN 2018, where the association would train and educate a new bunch of professionals for their future prospects. Speaking on the unveiling event, Nitin Nagrale, Founder and General Secretary, HPMF had said, “The objectives of UDAAN are to contribute for the training and education of the future generation, make the forum more socially responsible and make it more engaging and responsive to its own members.”

One of the core objectives of the creation of HPMF is to encourage procurement of high-quality and high-standard products to upgrade the overall standard of the industry. HPMF is also committed to Sustainable Development and Green Initiatives.

The initiative started with one member as Founder and has grown to over 6000 members as of today, who have registered themselves. HPMF will utilise this collective procurement power which would result in increased profits for the members and the suppliers and benefit the Indian economy.
