‘We are actively exploring collaborations with hotels and catering companies’

Under Yuvraj Kohli’s leadership, Moti Mahal Delux restaurant is set to navigate the balance between preserving its five decade long rich heritage and embracing the future. With strategic menu innovations, targeted expansions, diversified revenue streams, and strategic collaborations, the brand is poised for continued success on the global stage. In a conversation with Asmita Mukherjee, Kohli sheds light on the strategic plans and visions that underpin the future of the iconic brand.

Moti Mahal Delux has long been synonymous with rich Indian culinary heritage. However, Kohli emphasises the importance of evolution in a dynamic food industry. “We pride ourselves on our heritage, but we also recognise the importance of evolving with the times,” he stated. This evolution is reflected in their recent introduction of fusion dishes that marry classic Indian spices with Mediterranean and East Asian elements.”

With an eye on global expansion, Kohli identifies Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North America as key regions for growth. “These regions have a growing food culture that aligns well with our offerings,” he noted.

Moti Mahal Delux’s revenue streams are a part of its multifaceted approach to business. “Our revenue streams are diversified across several channels. Approximately 60% comes from dine-in services, which is a testament to our inviting ambiance and exceptional customer service. Takeaway and online ordering constitute about 30% of our revenue, and this has been growing steadily with the rise in digital food delivery platforms. The remaining 10% comes from catering services, which cater to both corporate events and private functions,” Kohli explained.

While speaking about their franchise offerings Kohi highlighted , “We offer a unique blend of tradition and innovation,” ensuring a loyal customer base and consistent footfall.

Collaborations with other hospitality businesses are a key part of Moti Mahal Delux’s growth strategy, Kohli said. “We are actively exploring collaborations with hotels and catering companies,” he reveals. He said that these partnerships not only enhance brand visibility but also expand their reach, allowing more people to experience their signature dishes at various venues. This comprehensive service approach benefits both the brand and its clients.

While speaking about his future plans for the brand Kohli said, “In the next 5-10 years, we aim to expand our footprint internationally.”
