“SPARDHA 2K24” – Annual Sports Festival at IHM Ranchi concludes with grand prize distribution ceremony

The closing ceremony of two week long annual sports meet “Spardha” 2K24, organised at IHM Ranchi from 12.11.2024 to 25.11.2024. The chief guest of the ceremony was Shri Samarjeet Jana, Principal, JVM Shyamali, Ranchi, and the special guest was Shri Amit Singh, Principal, ODM Sapphire Global School Ranchi, Mr. Alok Aswal, HOD, IHM Ranchi and other dignitaries were present on this occasion. The closing ceremony witnessed a high adrenaline finale of volleyball match played between Principal’s team and the team Amateur (first-year students), the match began with the national anthem in the presence of everyone. In this decisive match, the team led by Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar showed an excellent performance and won by a margin of 3-1. Dr. Bhupesh Kumar and Rahul Tigga were selected as the players of the tournament in volleyball category.

The prize distribution ceremony began with lamp lighting by distinguished dignitaries followed by a mesmerising Ganesh Vandana performed by the students of the institute, which was highly appreciated by everyone.

The Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Samarjeet Jana appreciated IHM Ranchi for organizing the annual sports festival 2K24 and expressed his happiness to be present as the chief guest and congratulated the students for choosing a course which will transform them into a future ready professional. He also advised the students to learn from their principal and teachers and aim to complete every task, he emphasised that the students who are better in sports can achieve greater heights in every field of life.

The Special guest Shri Amit Singh, while greeting and thanking everyone, said that students should be ahead in sports as well as in studies. Sports keep students active in every field, never give up on any task, and fulfill their dreams. He also said that this course is not only about living life but also helps in building a better society. He also instructed the students to learn something new wherever they go with a healthy body and a healthy mind.

The Principal of the Institute, Dr. Kumar while greeting all the attendees with a Johar, dedicated the successful organization of the annual sports festival to the students of the institute and shared the importance of sports, saying that any difficult situation can be overcome with discipline, removing fear, working collectively, managing pressure, and believing in oneself. He also instructed to move towards one’s goal and fulfill one’s dreams and thanked everyone for making this annual sports festival 2024 a great success. He also stated that discipline is most important in sports and congratulated all the winners and participants stating that all the participants of the sports festival are winners.

Various competitions like carrom, badminton, chess, table tennis, cricket, football, volleyball, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, long jump, race, relay race, tug of war were organized for the students of the institute in the annual sports festival 2K24, in which everyone participated enthusiastically.

While the 3rd year students stood winner in the final match of the cricket tournament, Kunal Kumar Mishra, Harsh Kumar, and Pratham were the man of the match whereas Harsh Kumar and Kartikey Singh were recognized as best batsman and best bowler of the tournament respectively. In the final match of the football tournament, second-year students emerged as the winners, in which Shri Nitin Minj was selected as the player of the tournament. Abhishek Kumar and Mohammad Abdul in the boys’ carrom competition and Durba and Sadgi in the girls’ carrom competition, Anurag Chaudhary in the boys’ chess competition and Anisha Kerketta in the girls’ chess competition, Praful Tigga in the boys’ table tennis competition and Durba Das Gupta in the girls’ table tennis competition, Rehan Ali, Nabiladan in the boys’ badminton doubles competition and Khushi in the girls’ badminton doubles competition, Nishant in the boys’ javelin throw competition and Pooja in the girls’ javelin throw competition, Nishant in the boys’ shot put competition and Nitin Sanga in the girls’ shot put competition, Raj Ranjan in the boys’ discus throw competition and Anisha Kerketta in the girls’ discus throw competition, Om Kumar in the boys’ long jump competition and Nitin Sanga in the girls’ long jump competition, Abhishek Kumar, Ayate Chand, Anurag Chaudhary, and Nishant Kumar, third-year students on behalf of the boys in the relay race competition, and Sadgi, Puja Tigga, Arshi Nagvanshi, and Khushi Kumari, third-year students on behalf of the girls, Aman in the boys’ race competition and Basanti Munda in the girls’ race competition, and first-year students in the boys’ tug of war competition and third-year students in the girls’ tug of war competition were declared the winners. Shivam Kumar Singh was also awarded the Best Commentator Award in the sports festival.
Abhishek Kumar and Sadgi, third-year students, emerged as the overall champions of Spardha 2K24.

Shri Dhirendra Tiu, Senior Lecturer, proposed a vote of thanks at the closing ceremony of the annual sports festival 2K24 and greeted the chief guest, special guest, and attendees, and also thanked the teachers, staff, students, and all departments of the institute for making this sports festival a success.
