The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) proudly celebrated the outstanding
achievements of two exceptional individuals whose hard work and determination
exemplify the transformative power of skill development programs in India. The
felicitation ceremony, held at Park Plaza, Gurugram, was graced by Mr. K.B. Kachru,
Senior Governing Body Member, THSC, and Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC.
The two achievers, Mr. Atul Bhagwant from Buldhana, Maharashtra, and Ms. Rumi
Sultana Choudhary from Kohima, Nagaland, were selected to represent the skilling
ecosystem at the prestigious 26th January Republic Day Parade and ministerial
events, Their exceptional journeys highlight the life-changing opportunities provided by
the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and PMKVY 4.0, respectively.
Mr. Atul Bhagwant was selected under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme for the Washerman trade, standing out among 10 lakh candidates across 18 trades. His dedication and skill led to his recognition as one of the three individuals selected from 18 trades to represent India’s evolving skilling ecosystem.Ms. Rumi Sultana
Choudhary, trained under PMKVY 4.0 as a Street Food Vendor, has transformed her life by successfully establishing her own tiffin service business in Kohima, Nagaland. Her entrepreneurial journey is a testament to the effectiveness of PMKVY in equipping
individuals with the skills and confidence to contribute to their communities and build
sustainable livelihoods.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. K.B. Kachru, Senior Governing Body Member, THSC,
expressed his admiration for the achievers, stating, “Atul and Rumi represent the true
spirit of India’s skilling revolution. Their inspiring journeys underline the critical role of
programs like PM Vishwakarma and PMKVY in transforming lives and empowering individuals to achieve their dreams. It is a moment of great pride for THSC to recognize their remarkable accomplishments.”
Adding to the praise, Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO of THSC, remarked, “The success stories
of Atul and Rumi are a testament to the power of skill development in driving positive
change. Their determination and achievements highlight the importance of equipping
India’s youth with the skills required for today’s dynamic workforce. At THSC, we are
committed to expanding opportunities for more individuals, fostering entrepreneurship,
and building a skilled nation.”
During the event, Ms. Rumi Sultana Choudhary shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying,
“Starting my tiffin service in Kohima has been a journey of learning and growth. The
training I received under PMKVY 4.0 gave me not just the skills but also the confidence
to become a business owner. Being recognized for my efforts motivates me to aim even
higher and continue contributing to my community.”
Mr. Atul Bhagwant, reflecting on his achievement, said, “It is a moment of immense

ministerial events. The training I received under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme has
transformed my life, equipping me with valuable skills and opportunities. I am deeply
