Coldplay Concert Drives Five-Star Hotel Rates in Navi Mumbai to INR 1 Lakh per Night Amid Soaring Demand

As Coldplay prepares for its much-anticipated return to India after a nine-year hiatus, the British band’s upcoming concerts in Mumbai have led to a significant surge in both concert ticket prices and hotel rates. With tickets for the band’s performances at DY Patil Stadium selling out in minutes, five-star hotels within a 20 km radius of the venue are now capitalizing on the rush by charging close to INR 1 lakh per night.

Prominent hospitality chains such as Courtyard by Marriott and Taj Vivanta have already sold out, according to MakeMyTrip, while The Park, located just 2.18 km from the stadium, is pricing rooms at INR 85,849 per night. Slightly further away, Marriott Executive Apartments is quoting INR 70,000 per night for stays from January 18-20, 2025. Mid-range options like Fern Residency in Turbhe are asking nearly INR2 lakh for a three-night stay during the event.

Even after Coldplay announced a third concert date on January 21 due to overwhelming demand, five-star properties remained scarce, with only Royal Tulip Hotel offering availability. Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, a four-star hotel in Navi Mumbai, is charging INR53,000 per night for the new date.

BookMyShow, the exclusive ticketing partner for the Coldplay tour, has warned against ticket scalping and unauthorised sales following the surge in demand, advising concertgoers to purchase only from verified sources to avoid scams.
