DS Group to Double Hospitality Portfolio by 2027

FMCG giant Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) is making bold moves in the hospitality sector, aiming to expand its portfolio from six hotels to 10-12 properties by the financial year 2027. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman of the company, confirmed the ambitious growth plans in an exclusive interaction with Mint, emphasizing the group’s focus on high-growth regions across India, including tier I and tier II cities.

The company is strategically targeting the 4–5-star hotel category, with a mix of city and resort properties. Over the past year, DS Group has invested ₹200 crore in expanding its existing assets and plans to continue its aggressive expansion with significant additions to its room inventory. By 2025, the group intends to add 300 rooms, followed by another 500 by 2026, with an ultimate goal of doubling its total inventory to 2,000 rooms by 2027.

Currently, DS Group operates several high-profile properties, including the Radisson Blu in Guwahati, InterContinental Jaipur, Renaissance Bengaluru, and The Manu Maharani in Nainital. The group is also expanding its presence in emerging markets, with a particular focus on northeastern and eastern India. This includes a renovation of its flagship Radisson Blu hotel in Guwahati to cater to increasing demand in the region.

“Our investments are strategically directed toward high-demand markets,” Kumar stated, highlighting the group’s commitment to creating a robust footprint in rapidly growing hospitality hubs.
