The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) hospitality sector is witnessing significant growth, with occupancy rates and RevPAR surpassing pre-pandemic levels, reveals research by STR, commissioned by Arabian Travel Market (ATM). Government-backed initiatives such as Saudi Vision 2030 and the UAE’s ‘We the UAE 2031’ campaign are fueling this expansion.
Luxury hotels, now comprising 19% of the region’s total room inventory, have emerged as a key growth driver, with over 33,000 additional rooms under development. Saudi Arabia is set to lead in the influx of luxury accommodations, solidifying the GCC’s status as a global tourism hub.
Industry leaders, including Haitham Mattar of IHG Hotels & Resorts, will share insights on the region’s evolving tourism landscape at ATM 2025, scheduled from April 28 to May 1 in Dubai. This premier event will spotlight innovative hospitality trends and opportunities for the booming luxury travel market.
