According to Economic Times, InterGlobe Enterprises’ ambitious foray into the lifestyle hospitality space through its Miiro brand has seen significant progress, with 15 properties now operational across Europe. Since its launch last year, Miiro has amassed over 2,100 rooms in major European cities, including London, Paris, Barcelona, Vienna, and Budapest, showcasing its potential to compete in the global lifestyle hotel segment.
The expansion is a testament to InterGlobe’s strategic vision and growth in international hospitality. Group Managing Director Rahul Bhatia emphasized that the company’s decision to independently launch Miiro—despite its existing partnership with Accor in India—was driven by a desire to establish a global lifestyle brand that aligns with evolving guest preferences.
“Our portfolio now includes 15 properties internationally,” said Bhatia. “We launched in Paris over the summer, followed by Barcelona. London is set to open shortly, with more properties in Vienna coming next.” Early customer feedback, he added, has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 550,000 room nights sold since the brand’s inception.
Miiro’s portfolio includes a mix of owned and managed properties, including one operated by Sheraton in Amsterdam, showcasing the brand’s flexibility in adapting to different hospitality markets. These acquisitions, initiated in 2018, have enabled Miiro to establish a strong presence in Europe’s most competitive hospitality hubs.
While Miiro drives InterGlobe’s international aspirations, the company remains deeply invested in the Indian market. InterGlobe currently operates 30 hotels across 14 cities in India, offering more than 5,800 keys. Additionally, its partnership with Accor aims to significantly scale up operations, targeting 300 hotels in India by 2030.
Highlighting the synergies between aviation and hospitality, Bhatia shared insights on how InterGlobe is leveraging its low-cost airline, IndiGo, to strengthen its hospitality ventures. Plans are underway to integrate loyalty programmes between IndiGo and Accor, creating a seamless travel and hospitality experience for customers.
“India’s hospitality sector is still in its early stages of organized growth,” Bhatia remarked at a recent industry event in Mumbai. “The potential here is immense, and we see an opportunity to redefine the landscape through innovative partnerships and guest-centric strategies.”
Globally, Miiro’s expansion aligns with IndiGo’s plans to enhance its international footprint, particularly in Europe, Asia, and Australia—regions where Accor also has a strong presence. This interconnected strategy positions InterGlobe to cater to both leisure and business travelers, further strengthening its hospitality portfolio.
