Lemon Tree Hotels announced its latest signing of a franchised hotel – Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The property, which shall be franchised by Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, is expected to open in December 2023.
Dehradun, the capital, is the most populous city of Uttarakhand. Located in the Doon Valley at the foothills of the Himalayas nestled between the Song river, a tributary of Ganga, on the east and the Asan river, a tributary of Yamuna, on the west. The city with a picturesque landscape and mild climate is a gateway to popular tourist destinations of Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Chakrata, New Tehri, Uttarkashi, Harsil, Chopta-Tungnath and Auli as well treks to Valley of Flowers, Dayara Bugyal, Kedarkantha, Har Ki Dun and Hemkunt Sahib. The holy cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh and the Himalayan pilgrimage circuit of Chota Char Dham, (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath), are also primarily accessed via Dehradun.
Additionally, Dehradun is a notable academic and research hub and home to the Indian Military Academy, Forest Research Institute, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, The Doon School, Welham Boys School, Welham Girls School, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology and the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing. It is the headquarters of the Surveyor-General of India.
