Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a strategic growth plan for India and Southwest Asia, building on a strong 2024 during which it signed 21 new hotel deals across the region. The hospitality giant is set to debut seven new properties in 2025, located in Ghaziabad, Kasauli, Kochi, Bhopal, Vithalapur, Jaipur, and Butwal in Nepal, reflecting a well-rounded expansion across business, leisure, and spiritual destinations.
This expansion is part of Hyatt’s broader vision to reach 100 hotels in India within the next five years. With its current portfolio comprising 52 operational hotels—50 in India and two in Nepal—Hyatt has already surpassed 10,000 operational keys in the region, positioning itself as a major player in South Asia’s hospitality landscape.
Hyatt’s 2024 signings included properties in emerging business districts like GIFT City and Greater Noida, as well as extended footprints in key metros such as Mumbai and Bengaluru. The company also forayed into culturally rich and offbeat leisure destinations including Vrindavan, Kumbhalgarh, Katra, Kandaghat, Jim Corbett National Park, and Pushkar. Expansion in popular getaways like Goa and Jaipur further underlines Hyatt’s commitment to serving India’s evolving travel preferences.
The group also marked the introduction of its 10th brand in India, Destination by Hyatt, along with expansions in its lifestyle portfolio including new Andaz and JdV by Hyatt signings. Hyatt’s presence in Nepal is also growing, with two additional properties in the pipeline.
According to Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director, India & Southwest Asia, 2024 marked a transformative year for Hyatt in the region. He stated that the company is committed to further innovation and growth, aiming to bring new experiences aligned with the growing demand for luxury, wellness, and culturally immersive travel across India and its neighbouring markets.
