The highly anticipated Matsya Utsav 2024 is set to take place in the historic city of Alwar, Rajasthan, from November 25th to 27th. A celebration of Alwar’s rich cultural heritage, the festival offers a perfect blend of art, tradition, and tourism, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond.
According to Manish Bhatia, MD, Sparrow Hotels and Executive Member of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism for Rajasthan, “Matsya Utsav is more than just a festival; it’s a tribute to Alwar’s timeless traditions, pristine landscapes, and vibrant art forms. It brings together the community while creating unforgettable experiences for tourists.”
This year’s highlights include:
- Yoga for All: Morning sessions promoting wellness at Purjan Vihar and Company Garden.
- Cycling for Eco-Tourism: A unique rally from Purjan Vihar to Nagar Van, showcasing Alwar’s scenic beauty.
- Cultural Performances: Mesmerizing folk dances and music programs at iconic locations like Siliserh Lake and Mahal Chowk.
- Bhangarh Fort Activities: Performances by street artists and a cultural program immersing visitors in the mystical ambiance of this ancient site.
- Traditional Arts and Crafts: Mehndi, rangoli, and painting workshops under the theme “Atulya Alwar.”
- Photography Exhibition: Held at Ashok Circle, celebrating the beauty of Alwar’s landscapes and architecture.
- Floral Show: A grand display of flowers at Purjan Vihar.
The festival commemorates Alwar’s Foundation Day, aiming to preserve and promote its heritage while boosting cultural tourism. Manish Bhatia highlights, “Our goal is to connect people with Alwar’s unparalleled beauty, heritage, and wildlife tourism while fostering awareness about its folk traditions.”
Matsya Utsav 2024 is organized by the Tourism Department of Alwar, in collaboration with the District Administration and key partners, including the Urban Improvement Trust, Municipal Corporation, and local hospitality stakeholders. The event also sees active participation from the travel and tourism industry, ensuring visitors have a seamless experience.
