Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh is set to visit Mumbai on April 9 and 10, 2025, to woo investors for the hospitality sector in Andhra Pradesh. His itinerary includes participation in the 20th Hotel Investment Conference South Asia (HICSA), held at Powai Lake, Mumbai.
The visit aims to spotlight Andhra Pradesh as a prime investment destination for hospitality ventures. The Minister will present the State’s vast potential and invite hotel groups and investors to explore the opportunities available.
The conference will serve as a platform for Andhra Pradesh to showcase its recently launched tourism policy. Recognized as an industry, the tourism sector has become a critical driver of economic growth in the State. Under the policy, the government has set an ambitious target to add 50,000 hotel rooms within the next four years.
To date, the State has already secured investments worth INR1,200 crore, facilitated through eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
Accompanying the Minister will be Tourism Secretary Ajay Jain and Tourism Managing Director Amrapali Kata. The delegation plans to engage with leading hotel groups and investors, emphasizing the incentives and benefits offered by the State government to hospitality businesses.
