Atmosphere Core, a Maldives-based hospitality firm, has announced its entry into India with plans to launch an all-women-managed hotel in Bhopal. Co-founder and Managing Director Salil Panigrahi revealed that the initiative follows the success of their first women-run hotel in the Maldives, a pioneering project in Asia.
Founded in 2014, Atmosphere Core currently manages 9% of the hotel inventory in the Maldives, operating luxury properties under brands like Colours of Oblu, The Ozen Collection, and Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. The company aims to establish 15–20 experiential hotels and resorts in India within the next five years, focusing on scenic and leisure destinations rather than urban centers.
Upcoming projects include hotels in Kolkata and Goa, with expansion plans targeting North and Northeast India. Globally, Atmosphere Core is growing its presence in the Middle East, Africa, Nepal, Bhutan, and Italy, where it has converted a historic monastery into a heritage hotel.
The firm also plans to increase its Maldives portfolio to 12–13 properties.
