HRAWI Extends Supports to Maharashtra Government’s Tourism Initiative in Vidarbha

The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has lauded the Maharashtra Government for its forward-thinking INR 350 crore initiative aimed at boosting tourism in Vidarbha. This comprehensive plan, with a focus on infrastructure, employment, and elevating visitor experiences, underscores the government’s dedication to positioning Maharashtra as a nature-centric travel hub. The initiative includes the development of a tourism circuit integrating forest and water tourism, with a significant emphasis on the Ambhora Bridge. This project is set to offer tourists a panoramic view of the region, augmenting Vidarbha’s allure as a tourist destination. Furthermore, the introduction of a light and sound show is anticipated to attract a larger number of visitors, contributing to the region’s economic growth.

“We extend our appreciation to the Deputy CM – Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji for his proactive approach to boost tourism in Vidarbha. Such initiatives not only showcase the natural beauty of the region but also create immense potential for growth in the hospitality sector. The Ambhora bridge development, coupled with the introduction of innovative attractions like the light and sound show, aligns perfectly with our vision for Maharashtra as a nature-focused, holistic tourism destination,” says Pradeep Shetty, President, HRAWI.

The INR.350 crore development plan includes an allocation of INR 100 crore to Bhandara district and INR .250 crore to Nagpur district. The initiative is a progressive step towards realising the full potential of Maharashtra as a diverse and enriching tourism hub. The plan’s emphasis on facilities, employment generation and visitor experience enhancement, is expected to have a positive impact on the hospitality industry.

“The creation of employment opportunities and the overall economic growth in the region are significant benefits that resonate with the hospitality sector’s goals. The HRAWI looks forward to collaborating with the State to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives and to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Vidarbha,” concludes Paramjit Singh Ghai, Hon. Treasurer, HRAWI.
