Central University of Himachal Pradesh Signs MoU with Wolverhampton University at Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress

Aslccording  delegation from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, is participating in the 15th session of the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress (ITHC) at the University of Wolverhampton, England, from October 2 to 6. The conference, themed “Transformation in Tourism and Hospitality Business: Adoption of Technology and Sustainability,” is focused on the industry’s shift towards technological innovation and sustainable practices.

Prof Bansal emphasized the importance of these changes, stating that the tourism and hospitality industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the need for sustainability and the rapid adoption of technology. He highlighted that adapting to these shifts is crucial for businesses to remain competitive in today’s evolving market.

During the event, CUHP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wolverhampton University, which is expected to benefit students, researchers, and faculty from both institutions. The agreement was finalized at the Vice-Chancellors’ Apex Committee meeting.

Key topics to be discussed at the congress include sustainable tourism innovation, technology-driven advancements in hospitality management, and the development of policies for sustainable tourism growth. Prof Bansal, who also serves as the national president of the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress, underscored the holistic approach needed for the industry’s successful transformation through technology and sustainability.
