Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place at Hyatt Regency Chennai

Hyatt Regency Chennai recently hosted their annual christmas tree lighting ceremony with the children from Prema Vasam and Presidency Girls High School. This year, they embraced sustainability by crafting a unique 20 ft. tall tree from children’s storybooks for the first time in Chennai. These books will be later donated to the Presidency Girls School in Egmore, Chennai, fostering a love for reading among the young minds.

The hotel believes in incorporating sustainability into their endeavors and hence they organised this book donation drive till Christmas. Speaking at the annual christmas tree lighting ceremony, Ruban Das, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Chennai, said “On the occasion of this holiday season, it is our time to give back to society. As a global company, we strive to support organisations that align with our World of Care platform and purpose of caring for people so they can be their best. We are encouraged to align our charitable giving with organizations that support Caring for People, Caring for the Planet and/or Caring for Responsible Business and moreover, nothing compares to the happiness seen on these young children’s faces when they receive these books shared by all our wonderful guests.”

The ceremony also witnessed live music and a special entry of Santa Claus brought joy to all the little ones present while the guests were served with mulled wine and canapés, a special kids menu was also offered.  Christmas is incomplete without special goodies, and with this they launched The Christmas Shop at the Lobby Lounge.
