World Cancer Day held every 4 February is the global uniting initiative raising worldwide awareness, improving education and catalysing personal, collective and government action, where everyone comes to work together to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all.
Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history.
Taj Coromandel is proud to participate in this initiative along with Apollo Cancer Centre, Teynampet, Chennai. Volunteers from across departments at Taj Coromandel came together to visit various cancer patients across ages at the hospital and distribute a few delicious goodies crafted by our chefs at the hotel.
The patients fighting the battle spent valuable moments with our volunteers and the Executive Chef, Sujan Mukherjee along with Area Director of Human Resources – Mohammed Uvais personally invited a young patient to the hotel to fulfil his dream of becoming a chef.
Taj Coromandel takes immense pride in giving back to the community and for World Cancer Day, the hotel aims to create awareness about the importance of preventive measures for Cancer.
