A team of security researchers unveiled a series of vulnerabilities dubbed “Unsaflok” affecting 3 million Saflok electronic RFID locks deployed in 13,000 hotels and homes worldwide. These flaws, discovered in September 2022, allow attackers to unlock any door within a hotel using forged keycards. Despite disclosing their findings to manufacturer Dormakaba in November 2022, nearly 64% of the locks remain vulnerable as of March 2024, prompting the researchers to publicly reveal the vulnerabilities today. The flaws impact various Saflok models and pose a significant security risk, potentially enabling unauthorized access to millions of properties globally. (Source :Bleeping Computers)

The Lemon Tree Hotels recently signed a new property in Jharkhand’s Ranchi. The property, which will be franchised by Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, is expected to open in FY25. Lemon Tree Hotels, Ranchi will feature 45 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a bar, banquet facilities, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness center and other public areas. The hotel is connected by both public and private transport from all major cities in India. This will be the third upcoming property of the company in the state of Jharkhand. UAE-headquartered Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands, which this year marks its 20th anniversary, highlighted the Indian market’s unbridled tourism potential recently.
