JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa appoints Chef Rohit Chadha as the new Executive Chef

JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa opens its doors to a new gourmet mastermind, as Chef Rohit Chadha takes over the reigns as Executive Chef, bringing his excellence and innovative touch to JW Marriott Mussoorie’s kitchens. With over a decade of experience wielding his skills and leading new avenues in the industry, his story is full of inspiration, passion, travel and noteworthy accolades.

He has donned the chef’s hat at some of the most renowned hospitality and culinary establishments across the country. Notably, he steered the culinary vision at Dashanzi, the acclaimed progressive modern Asian cuisine enclave nestled within the JW Marriott, Juhu. At Hyatt Regency Pune, he orchestrated culinary symphony, curating a delectable global menu accentuated by locally-sourced ingredients, at a sophisticated 70-cover dining establishment.

His culinary prowess has also graced the kitchens of iconic venues such as Hemant Oberoi, BKC, Mumbai, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai and Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, marking significant milestones in his illustrious career. A testament to his journey is his extensive exploration of vibrant culinary landscapes, traversing through Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai and Malaysia in pursuit of gastronomic inspiration.

Furthermore, he has contributed to unforgettable experiences, collaborating with luminaries like Chef Vikas Khanna and Chef Ranveer Brar for Master Chef India, and joining forces with Chef Chintan Pandya for the acclaimed Dhamaka pop-up at JW Marriott Juhu, Mumbai. Noteworthy collaborations extend internationally, including a collaboration with Chef Juan Carlos for Henshin Jakarta.

From conceptualizing innovative menus to leading immersive culinary expeditions and orchestrating captivating food festivals, Chef Rohit has been an indispensable force in every culinary venture. His youthful ingenuity and exceptional skill have birthed an array of unparalleled creations, both within and beyond the kitchen — a flavour of which he now brings to the Queen of the Hills.

He has racked up a lot of recognition for his artistry being featured in Creme Magazine, Indian Express, Hotelier India. Over the years he has won accolades for restaurants he has helmed – the Times Food & Nightlife Award 2020, Restaurant India Awards 2019; and he was even shortlisted in the top 10 as a part of Condé Nast Traveller India’s Journeys of a Lifetime.

“I cook by choice, not by professional bounds. Thoughtful, innovative and sumptuous food gives me an adrenaline rush. When I am not cooking, I like to explore nature and go out for trekking. I share a deep interest in exploring urban and non-urban cultures — reading about them, watching movies and when possible, experiencing them in person” explains Chef Rohit.

Now he brings this attitude and arsenal of skills to JW Marriott Mussoorie, where he will be able to explore the local culture and cuisine and give it his own spin. He brings flavour, fervour and a fastidious mind to the position where he will have the opportunity to redefine the offerings at our kitchens. Whether it is reimagining Chinese, Japanese and Thai delicacies at Teppan, the hotel’s Pan-Asian outpost, or it is innovating delicious Mediterranean and Italian dishes at Wisteria Deck, whether it is making new waves at Trout House Grill & Bar or hosting fun, exciting culinary adventures off the beaten path for our guests — Chef Rohit comes with a young, vibrant and beautiful mind and philosophy of food that is full of creativity, promising to take your breath away with every bite. From local treasures to international indulgences, the hotel is excited for its guests to be immersed in new culinary experiences, so they walk away with the most unforgettable memories.

His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment brings an added layer of zest to the position he assumes. Alongside crafting these unique gourmet experiences, he will be cultivating a team that will deliver the same passion, innovation and dedication that he has. His personal goal for growing as he learns, and imbibing the brand’s core values in everything he does is something we are very excited about, and something that will be instrumental in the company’s success and his own.

“Chef Rohit’s arrival at JW Marriott Mussoorie marks an exciting chapter in our leading culinary journey, and we enthusiastically anticipate the synergy between his culinary mastery and commitment to sustainability, seamlessly complementing our ethos of delivering extraordinary experiences while upholding our environmental responsibilities. With his leadership, we are poised to further elevate JW Marriott Mussoorie’s reputation as a beacon of culinary innovation and sustainable hospitality,” said Anoop Pandey, General Manager.
