The state excise department has suspended the licenses of 68 pubs and bars in and around the city for violating regulations, pending further orders. Notices have also been issued to 77 other establishments. Actions taken within the past month include:

1. Mandatory installation of two CCTV cameras at bar counters.
2. The excise department and police will have access to monitor the CCTV footage.
3. Administrative authorities will also oversee the camera feeds.
4. Notifications will be sent to police and excise department officials on their mobile devices if any pub or bar breaches the time limit.
5. Ongoing inspections will be conducted by the vigilance team.
6. Proof of age will be verified before allowing entry into pubs and bars.
