School of Hospitality & Tourism, Galgotias University finds a place among the best across the world

School of Hospitality & Tourism (SOHT), Galgotias University, Greater Noida, India is ranked among TOP-50 Best Hospitality and Hotel Management Schools in the World for 2023.

CEOWORLD, New York, United States, a well-acclaimed and world’s leading business publication on 17th March 2023 released the ranking of the best hotel management colleges in the world and Galgotias School of Hospitality & Tourism has been ranked 49th in the list and thus became the first and only private institute to be ranked among best-50 in India.

The ranking was based on the survey of 1,85,000 graduates, industry professionals, employers, and recruiters in 96 territories around the world. Only two other Indian colleges have figured in the list, that is IHM, Chennai at 13th rank (in the government category); and WGSHA, Manipal at 55th rank (in the private category).

This ranking is based on seven major metrics of quality and reputation, they are – perceived global brand influence, recruiters’ responses, employers’ feedback, job placement rate, admission eligibility, specialization, and academic reputation. The William F. Harrah College of Hospitality at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is at the top slot; the Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University is at the second slot; and the College of Hospitality Management at Johnson & Wales University is third.

“It is indeed a glorious moment for the 11-year-old Institution and we are proud of this achievement and will leave no stone unturned to go higher up in the ranking”, said the Dean of the School, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Mishra. “Today, our school is India’s premier hospitality & tourism management institution and the first college in North India to be instituted as the ‘Centre of Excellence in Hospitality & Tourism’ in corporate partnership with Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, and this prestigious world ranking is a matter of great pride and honour not only for the University and associated stakeholders but for the entire nation”, he added.

“The SOHT’s global ranking based on seven metrics of quality and reputation is a benchmark of academic excellence and has placed the institution among the top private hospitality & tourism institutions in India”, said the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. K Mallikharjuna Babu.
