FHRAI Celebrates Hospitality Icons with Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame Awards at 54th Annual Convention

At the 54th Annual Convention of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), held in Goa, the industry paid tribute to key figures in the hospitality sector recognizing their contributions.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was posthumously awarded to Late Prithvi Singh Oberoi, Former Executive Chairman of EIH Limited, in recognition of his leadership and impact on the hospitality industry. Oberoi’s vision and dedication helped elevate Indian hospitality to a global standard, leaving behind a legacy.

In addition, three industry leaders were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Dr. Ajit B Kerkar, Former Chairman and Managing Director of the Taj Group of Hotels, was recognized for his efforts in expanding the Taj brand, establishing it as a symbol of Indian hospitality worldwide. Late Capt. C P Krishnan Nair, Founder Chairman of The Leela Group of Hotels, was acknowledged for building The Leela Group into a name in luxury hospitality. Lalit Suri, Founder Chairman of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, was recognized for his role in expanding luxury hotels across the country, contributing to the growth of the hospitality sector in India.

Pradeep Shetty, President of FHRAI said,“Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants who have shaped the hospitality landscape and set the benchmark for service. The legacies of these individuals remind us of the commitment and passion required to provide hospitality. Their contributions have transformed our industry, ensuring that we continue to offer experiences to our guests.”

Their leadership has shaped the Indian hospitality landscape and set standards for future generations. Through their efforts, they have created a legacy, and their influence continues to inspire the industry today.
