Mumbai-based Rajj Tandoors, manufacturers of authentic tandoor ovens, has been making rapid strides in the industry. One of the company’s core objectives is to bring tandoor cooking to the forefront of modern dining establishments. “In over two decades of work, we’ve seen tandoor sections often hidden away in kitchen corners. But when done right, tandoor cooking offers powerful theatrical value, enhancing guest engagement and dining experiences. We aim to empower kitchens worldwide to serve true Indian flavours with authenticity,” said Dhruv Narula, Manager-Growth, Rajj Tandoors.
Narula also said that they have ensured their equipment is specifically designed to operate seamlessly in high-volume kitchens, making their products the preferred choice of chefs, consultants, and F&B establishment owners when it comes to tandoors in the kitchen. “Our chef-first approach ensures better integration, smoother operations, and long-term satisfaction. We work closely with the hotel operators, consultants, and chefs to deliver customised versions of our tandoors designed to reduce operational expenses and improve kitchen efficiency. Our dedication to prioritise lasting quality and build relationships that grow stronger with time has helped us keep us well ahead of the competition,” pointed out Narula.
Rajj Tandoors was among the first in India to introduce gas and electric versions of tandoor ovens. The company understood that traditional charcoal-fired tandoors weren’t always feasible especially in settings like cruise ships, basements, or airports which have strict fire safety regulations. “We were among the first in India to introduce gas and electric versions of the tandoors, challenging an age-old process of using charcoal only. We also maintained the flavour profile for which this specific equipment was used. The concept of heat and flavour retention helped in developing a learning curve in the industry as many began to embrace these alternatives as part of cleaner kitchens,” Narula claimed.
Currently, the company exports its products to Canada, South Africa, the Gulf region, and Southeast Asia—markets with significant Indian diaspora communities. On the domestic front, Raj Tandoors counts prestigious names among its clients, including Fairmont Mumbai, Ritz-Carlton Pune, Westin Hotels in Goa, Rishikesh, and Mumbai, as well as Grand Hyatt Hotels in Mumbai and Goa.
Speaking about future plans, Narula said, “Over the next three years, our goal is to strengthen our position as a trusted global supplier of authentic Indian tandoor ovens and expand our presence in emerging hospitality markets. Beyond our products, we’re investing in robust after-sales support, deeper collaboration with chefs and consultants, and enhancing the way we support our clients while evolving with the industry’s changing needs.”
