Gaurav Soneja, now elevated to Cluster General Manager for ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar, continues to lead with excellence, further solidifying his stellar career with ITC Hotels. Recently, he has also been entrusted with overseeing Storii by ITC Hotels Devasom Resort & Spa, Kolkata underscoring his expansive leadership and dynamic versatility.
Gaurav relocated to Kolkata in 2022 from ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru as the General Manager of ITC Royal Bengal bringing with him a wealth of experience. His journey with ITC Hotels commenced at Welcomhotel Sheraton New Delhi in 2007. Over the years, he has held senior management positions in Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai, where he established himself as a trailblazer for his successors.
As an integral part of the pre-opening team, Gaurav served as the Cluster Hotel Manager for ITC Royal Bengal & ITC Sonar in Kolkata. In this capacity, he was instrumental in the positioning and launching of the 693-key destination, featuring 14 food and beverage offerings, the Bengal Stateroom—the largest pillar less hall in Eastern India—meeting rooms, a spa, and long-stay serviced residences. His strategic acumen amidst fierce competition elevated the hotel complex to become a leading destination in India.
Graduating from IHM Bangalore, Gaurav has worked in international markets prior to joining ITC Hotels. His role as Beverage Manager during the pre-opening phase of ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru, in 2009 was pivotal in crafting the hotel’s beverage portfolio. He was part of the pre-opening team and worked at ITC Gardenia from 2009 to 2013, where he significantly contributed to its success. Gaurav later moved on to ITC Windsor, Bengaluru, ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, and ITC Sonar in Kolkata as Food & Beverage Manager.
Promoted to Resident Manager at ITC Sonar, Gaurav’s success there led to his elevation as the Cluster Hotel Manager for both ITC Sonar and ITC Royal Bengal in 2018. He played a crucial role in the grand opening of ITC Royal Bengal before moving to the flagship property, ITC Maurya, New Delhi, as Hotel Manager. In this role, he was responsible for the overall operations of the hotel. Gaurav returned to ITC Gardenia as the General Manager in November 2021.
An avid golfer, Gaurav is a core believer in teamwork. He is passionate about Food & Beverage and loves spending time with his daughter and family. He is a proud parent of two dogs, Whisky and Tipsy.
With his recent promotion to Cluster General Manager and the added responsibility of overseeing Storii by ITC Hotels Devasom Resort & Spa, Kolkata, Gaurav Soneja exemplifies dedicated leadership and operational excellence across all levels.
