Sanjay Dutt’s Glenwalk Scotch Whisky aims to increase sales by 1.8 million bottles through entry into the premium segment and global expansion

According CNBC- TV18, after selling an impressive 500,000 bottles in its first year, Sanjay Dutt’s Glenwalk Scotch Whisky is now gearing up to enter the premium whiskey segment and broaden its global footprint. Launched in June 2023, Glenwalk marked Dutt’s debut in the alcoholic beverages industry.

Glenwalk was co-founded in partnership with Cartel Bros, a premium whiskey company established by Moksh Sani, Jitin Merani, Rohan Nihalani, Manish Sani, and Neeraj Singh. Notably, Moksh Sani also founded the alcohol retail chain Living Liquidz. Sanjay Dutt serves as the brand partner for Glenwalk, which has quickly made its mark in the market.

Glenwalk aims to sell 1.8 million bottles this year, reflecting its strong market performance. “You can see it has done amazingly well. We’ve entered many states and countries,” Dutt shared. Co-founder Moksh Sani attributes the high sales to the whisky’s competitive price point and Dutt’s association with the brand. Glenwalk is currently priced between INR1,550 and INR1,600 per bottle.

The brand is now set to expand its presence across India, targeting key markets such as Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Goa, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana. On the international front, Glenwalk recently entered its first overseas market, Dubai, and aims to expand to 50 countries.

In its next phase of growth, Glenwalk is venturing into the premium whiskey segment. Moksh Sani revealed that the company is developing new blends with varying age statements to cater to a more discerning audience. “We started with the masses, but now we’re looking to appeal to a broader audience. We’re working on eight-year-old, 12-year-old, and eventually 18-year-old blends,” Sani added, signaling the brand’s ambition to climb the ranks in the premium whisky market.
