The District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC) of Barpeta, Assam, recently organized two workshops under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program to support local entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism sector. Held on March 17, the sessions took place at Barpeta Road and Bajali in collaboration with the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC).
The workshop at Bajali was inaugurated by Pinkey Debnath, Assistant Commissioner of Bajali, and featured Dr. Anirban Baishya, Head of the Department at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Guwahati, as the resource person. Meanwhile, the session at Barpeta Road was led by Hemanta Baishya, Senior Professor at IHM Guwahati, who provided valuable insights into emerging opportunities in hospitality and tourism.
These interactive sessions aimed to equip entrepreneurs with essential knowledge on business development, service quality, and evolving trends in the hospitality industry. The workshops align with efforts to foster economic growth in Assam and promote the state’s potential as a thriving tourism destination.
