The state government informed the assembly on Friday that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has granted in-principle approval, development permission, and BU permission to three hotels in R1, R2, and Commercial Business District (CBD) zones under its hotel policy. Additionally, under the Hotel and Mixed-Use Policy, four hotels received similar permissions in the R3 zone.
State minister Rushikesh Patel revealed that over the past two years, the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) granted construction permissions in agricultural zones under the hotel policy. These approvals generated an income of ₹6.38 crore through fees and charges. Construction permissions were issued in the villages of Mulsana and Vayana in Kalol.
Specifically, Karnavati Club Limited received approval for 1,71,173 sq. m on January 21, 2023, and Rajpath Club Limited for 1,31,353 sq. m on February 21, 2023, after deducting 40% of the total land area in Kalol taluka of Gandhinagar district.
Under the Regulations for Hotels, 2011, three hotels received in-principle approval, development permission, and BU permissions within AMC’s R1, R2, and CBD zones. Furthermore, under the Hotel and Mixed-Use Regulation 2016, four hotels in AMC’s R3 Zone were granted in-principle and development permissions, with two also receiving BU permissions.
