Punjab Grill, a pan-Indian fine-dining brand, continues to wow food enthusiasts with its rich North Indian flavours. With locations spread across India and internationally in cities like Washington D.C., Bangkok, Abu Dhabi and Singapore, this culinary marvel promises an authentic yet innovative dining experience that pays homage to Punjab’s regal culinary heritage.
Punjab Grill has achieved global recognition with some branches earning prestigious Michelin stars. Notably, the Washington D.C. location holds a Michelin star, while the Bangkok outlet, the brand’s first in Thailand, has been featured in the Michelin Guide.
Owned by Lite Bite Foods, Punjab Grill is on an ambitious expansion journey, aiming to open over 100 outlets by 2027-28. We recently visited its bustling outlet at Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad to experience the magic firsthand.
The restaurant exudes an elegant ambience with plush interiors blending traditional Punjabi motifs and modern aesthetics. Perfect for family gatherings or corporate dinners.
We began our feast with the Palak Patta Chaat, a delightful medley of crispy fried spinach leaves layered with sweet yoghurt and tangy chutneys. The seafood appetizers followed suit, with the Salmon Tikka and Ambarsari Machhi stealing the spotlight. The perfectly spiced and grilled fish left a lasting impression.
Beyond the regular offerings, Punjab Grill recently captivated diners with its ‘Punjab Da Swag’ food festival, a celebration of regional specialities. The festival’s Soothing Starters included refreshing options like the tangy Ambi Panna, a mango-based drink ideal for summer afternoons, and Mithe Te Tikhe Kule, a playful blend of sweet and spicy flavors, offering a unique start to the meal. Tikka Junction, a cornerstone of Punjabi cuisine, features signature tikkas such as Tikke – De Rajkumar, a royal preparation. For meat lovers, the Angithi Mutton Chop Tikka is a standout, offering smoky, tender mutton. Seafood enthusiasts can savor the Ambi Mahi Tikka, a delightful fish preparation infused with mango flavors. The Veg Delights ensures vegetarians are equally indulged, with options including the rich Dhingri Te Dolma – mushrooms in a creamy sauce.
Moving to the main course, the Keema Parothe, a dish featuring buttery parathas stuffed with spiced mince, stood out. The Macchi Di Tari, a robust curry leaves flavoured fish curry, highlighted Punjab Grill’s mastery of soulful curries. Each bite transported us to the heart of Punjab with its bold flavours.
As we savoured these delicacies, the Restaurant Manager, Karthik Ganesh, explained the restaurant’s ethos, “At Punjab Grill, we aim to preserve the culinary traditions of North India while ensuring every dish resonates with modern diners.”
The grand meal concluded with two sensational drinks that promise to beat the heat, Mango Berry Delight and Sippin’ on Cheesecake.
The Mango Berry Delight is a feast for the senses. Vibrant layers of frozen blueberries, curd, mango pulp, and mango crush come together to create a medley that’s equal parts refreshing and indulgent. It’s not just a drink; it’s a dessert-like experience that celebrates the harmony of tangy and sweet flavours.
Meanwhile, Sippin’ on Cheesecake brings the decadence of a classic dessert into a glass. Creamy mango puree pairs seamlessly with cream cheese and whipped cream, delivering the luxurious taste of a cheesecake in liquid form. A biscuit base adds texture, while a garnish of basil leaf elevates the drink with a hint of freshness.
Whether you’re dining at a domestic location or indulging overseas, Punjab Grill’s consistency in delivering premium North Indian flavours makes it a go-to choice. A meal for two will set you back approximately INR 2,000, excluding taxes, but the experience is well worth the splurge.
