The Gambero Rosso Top Italian Wines Roadshow concluded its Mumbai edition at the Jio World Convention Centre on May 23, 2025, to great acclaim. Over 323 wine professionals and enthusiasts came together to explore the diversity and excellence of Italy’s winemaking traditions, showcased by 50+ renowned Italian wine producers.
The event offered an immersive experience, with masterclasses, networking opportunities, and a platform for Indian importers, sommeliers, hoteliers, and educators to engage with Italy’s vibrant wine culture. “This successful return to India highlights a growing appreciation for Italian wines among Indian professionals and connoisseurs,” remarked Marco Sabellico, Editor-in-Chief of Vini d’Italia Guide.
A Grand Opening Ceremony
The event commenced with a prestigious inaugural ceremony, graced by dignitaries including Luigi Salerno, Director of Gambero Rosso SpA, and Walter Ferrara, Consul General of Italy. It also featured the Top Italian Restaurants Awards, celebrating culinary excellence with winners like Celini, CinCin, and Cecconi’s.
Masterclasses Highlight Italy’s Regional Varietals
Led by Marco Sabellico, the masterclasses explored Italian wine regions, from Prosecco’s sparkling elegance to bold reds from Southern Italy, showcasing iconic varietals such as Barolo, Amarone, and Primitivo.
