Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has completed 12 years of operations, crossing the milestone of 4,000 operational and under-development keys while outlining plans to expand its portfolio to more than 100 hotels and 10,000 keys by 2030.
The hospitality company currently operates 45 hotels and resorts across more than 41 destinations in India, with a presence spanning business hubs, leisure markets, pilgrimage destinations and emerging tourism centres.
Founded in 2014, Cygnett focused its growth strategy on Tier II and Tier III cities and the North East region at a time when most branded hospitality operators concentrated on metropolitan markets. The company established an early presence in destinations such as Ayodhya and several North Eastern cities, positioning itself to benefit from growing infrastructure development and rising travel demand.
Today, the company operates a portfolio of brands including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, Cozzet, Cygnett Resort/Retreat and Anamore, its upper-upscale hospitality platform.
As part of its next phase of expansion, Cygnett is advancing a pipeline of new hotels and resorts across destinations including Pushkar, Jaipur, Kasauli-Kiarighat, Srinagar, Goa, Guwahati, Itanagar, Jim Corbett, Gurugram, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chail, Ujjain, Panvel, Murud, Tirupati, Vrindavan, Tawang, Motihari, Dhanbad and Kharagpur.
A key driver of the company’s growth strategy is its alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which provides access to global distribution channels, international sales networks and the Wyndham Rewards loyalty programme.
Under the partnership, upcoming developments will operate under Wyndham-affiliated brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn and Cozzet under Trademark Collection by Wyndham, while Anamore and Anamore Select will be positioned under Registry Collection Hotels by Wyndham and La Quinta by Wyndham.
Several existing Cygnett properties, including hotels in Jaipur, Itanagar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar and Ayodhya, have already been integrated into the Trademark Collection by Wyndham portfolio, enabling access to Wyndham’s global reservation platform while maintaining their local identity.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said the company’s strategy has consistently focused on tapping opportunities in emerging destinations beyond major metropolitan centres.
He said the Wyndham partnership, expanding brand portfolio and robust development pipeline position the company to capitalise on evolving travel trends and strengthen its presence across India and South Asia.
The company believes future growth in the hospitality sector will be driven by spiritual tourism, experiential travel, destination weddings and infrastructure-led economic development in regional markets.
With more than 4,000 keys already operational or under development, Cygnett aims to significantly scale its national footprint and strengthen its position in India’s rapidly evolving hospitality landscape over the next decade.
