In a significant digital push, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has partnered with leading travel platform MakeMyTrip, making 56 HPTDC hotels across the state available for online booking.
Announcing the development, HPTDC Chairman R.S. Bali said the move would give the corporation’s hotels wider visibility and greater reach among domestic and international travelers. “In today’s digital age, online booking is crucial. This collaboration will connect our hotels to a bigger market and allow tourists to make hassle-free reservations from their homes,” he noted.
Bali called the partnership a historic milestone, stressing that it would enhance transparency, improve service quality, and open new employment opportunities in the tourism sector. “This agreement will add a new dimension to Himachal’s tourism landscape,” he added.
In another key decision, HPTDC has shifted its headquarters from Shimla to Dharamshala, a move approved by the state cabinet. Bali said the shift aims to strengthen Dharamshala’s position on the state’s tourism map and boost its identity as a hub for visitors.
The twin initiatives mark a new chapter for HPTDC, aligning Himachal’s tourism with digital innovation and regional growth.
