The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has reaffirmed its leadership by re-electing Jimmy Shaw, Managing Director of The Waterfront Shaw, Lavasa, as President during its landmark 75th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on September 17.
Alongside Shaw, the association confirmed its office bearers for 2025–26: Nirav Gandhi continues as Senior Vice President, Chetan Mehta as Vice President, and Pradeep Shetty as Honorary Secretary. Gurbir Singh Bedi takes on the role of Joint Honorary Secretary, while Paramjit Singh Ghai assumes duties as Honorary Treasurer.
Under Shaw’s leadership in the past year, HRAWI has championed critical reforms—from GST rationalisation and excise duty advocacy to food safety initiatives and high-impact platforms such as the Empowering Hospitality Conclave & Awards.
“Being re-elected President in our Platinum Jubilee year is both humbling and energising,” said Shaw. “We’ve shown that when our industry speaks with one voice, it can deliver real change. Going forward, we will prioritise technology adoption, sustainability, and inclusivity, while strengthening partnerships with governments to streamline regulations and boost India’s tourism competitiveness.”
A key highlight on HRAWI’s horizon is the 20th Regional Convention, scheduled for October 2025 at the iconic Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. This Platinum Jubilee edition will spotlight hospitality’s contribution to Viksit Maharashtra 2047, aligning with the national mission of Viksit Bharat 2047.
