The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ranchi has earned the prestigious “CSR Top Hotel Management Institute of India Award 2026,” further strengthening its reputation as one of the country’s leading hospitality education institutions.
The award was presented by Competition Success Review (CSR), one of India’s prominent education and career publications, during a ceremony held at Hotel Le Méridien, Windsor Place, New Delhi, on May 17, 2026.
According to the CSR Ranking Survey 2026, IHM Ranchi secured the third position nationally among hotel management institutes. The rankings were based on multiple parameters including admission standards, placement records, infrastructure, faculty quality, training methodology, academic innovation, and overall industry perception.
As Jharkhand’s only government-run hotel management institute, IHM Ranchi has consistently built a strong reputation for academic excellence, industry-oriented training, and student placements. The institute offers undergraduate and short-term professional programmes in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and has maintained a strong placement track record with leading hospitality and service sector brands across India.
The latest recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the institute. IHM Ranchi received the CSR Top Hotel Management Award consecutively in 2023, 2024, and 2025. It was also ranked first in the “Best Emerging College” category in the India Today Annual Ranking Survey 2024 and 2025. Additionally, the GHRDC Ranking Survey 2025 recognised the institute among the top government hotel management institutes in Eastern and Central India.
Beyond academics, IHM Ranchi has also played a significant role in promoting Jharkhand’s culinary heritage on national and international platforms. Its initiatives to showcase traditional Jharkhandi cuisine earned recognition from the India Book of Records in 2022 and 2023. The institute was also honoured with the “Most Admired Hotel Management Institute Award” in 2021.
Expressing his happiness over the achievement, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi, thanked the Tourism Department, Government of Jharkhand, for its continuous support and guidance. He stated that the recognition is a proud moment not only for the institute but also for the entire state of Jharkhand.
He added that the institute remains committed to setting new benchmarks in hospitality education, skill development, professional training, and student placements with continued support from the government and industry stakeholders.
