Minimalist Hotel, a boutique hotel and dormitory management brand operated by Swashbuckler Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, is set to expand its presence significantly in India. The company plans to add properties in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and the National Capital Region (NCR) by 2026, founder Gautam Munjal confirmed in a statement to Mint.
Launched in 2017, Minimalist Hotel operates a unique hybrid model, blending private hotel rooms with dorm-style accommodations. “It’s a hybrid hotel-cum-hostel model offering a mix of private rooms and dormitories,” said Munjal, emphasizing its appeal to both budget-conscious travelers and those seeking personalized experiences.
The company manages its properties either through operational leases or management contracts with property owners. This flexible model has allowed it to cater to a broad customer base, including solo travelers, backpackers, and corporate clients.
Munjal highlighted the company’s growth potential, attributing it to the rising demand for affordable yet high-quality accommodations in India’s hospitality market. The targeted locations—Rajasthan for its cultural appeal, Goa for its tourist influx, NCR for its corporate travel demand, and Uttar Pradesh for pilgrimage tourism—align with strategic market needs.
Minimalist Hotel’s upcoming properties are expected to retain the brand’s focus on offering modern amenities with minimalistic design while promoting sustainability and local engagement. As the hospitality industry rebounds post-pandemic, the company aims to capitalize on the increasing travel demand with its versatile and innovative approach.
This expansion reflects a growing trend in the Indian hospitality industry, where hybrid models are gaining popularity due to their adaptability and cost-efficiency. With its aggressive growth strategy, Minimalist Hotel is poised to become a key player in the budget and mid-market segment.
