Mugdha Sinha, a 1999-batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as the Managing Director of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Government of India. She will hold the position at the rank and pay scale of an Additional Secretary.
Before this, Sinha served as the Director General of Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism, where she played a significant role in shaping national tourism policies. Her appointment follows her empanelment to the rank of Additional Secretary in May 2024.
Sinha brings a wealth of administrative experience to her new role. She previously served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture from October 2022, overseeing key cultural and tourism initiatives. Her efforts focused on promoting India’s heritage and integrating it with tourism development.
As the new Managing Director of ITDC, Sinha is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing India’s tourism infrastructure and positioning the country as a premier global travel destination. Her combined expertise in culture and tourism is seen as a valuable asset in modernising ITDC’s operations and fostering innovative projects to boost India’s hospitality and tourism sectors.
