Oravel Stays, the parent company of OYO, is accelerating its global premiumization strategy with plans to expand its SUNDAY Hotels brand to 100 properties by the end of the next financial year. This initiative is part of Oravel’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the premium hotel segment worldwide.
Since its launch in May 2023 as a joint venture between SoftBank Group and Oravel Stays, SUNDAY Hotels has established itself as a premium four-star and five-star hotel brand. The brand currently operates across 10 countries, including India, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
In India, SUNDAY Hotels debuted in Jaipur, followed by expansions into key business and leisure cities such as Vadodara, Chandigarh, and Gurugram. At present, Oravel operates 13 SUNDAY Hotels in India, with plans to expand further.
Globally, the expansion of SUNDAY Hotels gained momentum in August 2024 with the launch of SUNDAY Holiday International Hotel in Dubai, followed by the SUNDAY Lansbury Heritage Hotel in the United Kingdom. Currently, 30 SUNDAY Collection hotels are operational across the 10 countries, with significant growth planned for FY26.
“The rapid expansion of SUNDAY Hotels across key markets has been driven by strong consumer demand and strategic partnerships,” an Oravel spokesperson stated.
With its focus on premium hospitality, OYO’s expansion of SUNDAY Hotels underscores its commitment to capturing a larger share of the global upscale hotel market while catering to the evolving needs of travelers seeking high-quality, well-positioned accommodations.
