Telangana to Become a Destination Wedding Hub, Says Tourism Minister

Tourism Minister Telangana Jupally Krishna Rao announced plans to transform Telangana, known for its natural beauty, into a destination wedding hub. Speaking at a Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI) event on Sunday, Krishna Rao highlighted the state’s potential beyond traditional wedding venues in Hyderabad.

He emphasized the untapped beauty of locations such as the Nagarjunasagar reservoir, nestled among green hills, and the Somasila backwaters in Kollapur on the banks of the Krishna River. These sites, he noted, are perfect for destination weddings and only need increased awareness.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state aims to become a global tourism hub, focusing on medical, adventure, spiritual, and eco-tourism. Krishna Rao highlighted the government’s efforts to attract investors for developing tourist areas through public-private partnerships (PPP), which will also promote destination weddings.

The minister underscored that the development of the tourism sector would generate income and create employment opportunities for the youth. He also emphasized that events like the TCEI gathering strengthen Telangana’s position as a top destination for weddings and tourism.

The event was attended by Tourism Development Corporation MD Ramesh Naidu, TCEI President Alla Balaram Babu, High Tex Head Srikanth, SIWPC Convener Hirish Reddy, Kumar Raja, Dr. Saurabh Surekha, Sudhakar Yarabadi, and other notable figures.
