Radisson Hotel Group has strengthened its presence in South India with the signing of Radisson Hotel Ongole, marking the city’s first internationally branded hotel and further expanding the group’s footprint in Andhra Pradesh.
The 151-room hotel will be developed along NH-16 on the Chennai–Kolkata corridor, positioning it to cater to growing demand from business, government, social and leisure travellers. Ongole, a key commercial and agricultural centre, is witnessing increasing economic activity driven by agriculture, tobacco trading, seafood exports, granite processing and industrial development, creating opportunities for organised hospitality.
The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, bar, lounge, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. A major focus of the development will be its meetings and events infrastructure, with over 2,100 sq m of banquet and conference space designed to cater to weddings, corporate events and large-scale social functions.
“Ongole represents an exciting addition to our growing portfolio in India, reflecting the increasing demand for quality hospitality experiences beyond established metropolitan centres. As the city’s first internationally branded hotel, this signing marks an important milestone for both the destination and our development journey in Andhra Pradesh,” said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
Davashish Srivastava, Vice President – Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the project aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding into emerging commercial centres where infrastructure growth and economic activity are creating new hospitality opportunities.
The property is being developed in partnership with Ravipriya Hospitalities LLP. Owners Kandi Ravisankar and Kandi Priyadarshi said the hotel aims to deliver contemporary hospitality experiences while serving as a preferred venue for business events, weddings and community gatherings.
The signing reinforces Radisson Hotel Group’s continued focus on tier-2 and tier-3 markets, which account for more than half of its India portfolio. The group currently has over 225 hotels in operation and development across the country and remains one of India’s largest international hotel operators.
