Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), has been honored with the ‘Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality and Education Through Technology’ award by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Shekhawat. The award was presented at the Vibrant Bharat Global Summit 2025, hosted by Bharat 24, a leading language media network.
This prestigious accolade recognizes Dr. Bose’s pioneering contributions to hospitality, tourism, and education through technological innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). The event also marked the launch of his new book, Harmonizing Human Touch and AI in Tourism & Hospitality, unveiled by the Union Minister.
In the book’s foreword, Gajendra Shekhawat praised Dr. Bose, stating, “This well-researched document reflects a visionary approach to integrating AI with hospitality while preserving its human essence.” The book explores the transformative role of AI in enhancing guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
Reacting to the recognition, Dr. Bose expressed gratitude, saying, “This award is not just for me but for Team IIHM, which shares my vision of leveraging technology while upholding the core values of hospitality. We are preparing tomorrow’s leaders for a future shaped by AI, automation, and innovation.”
Under Dr. Bose’s leadership, IIHM has led global initiatives to integrate AI in hospitality education, including the Global Knowledge Sharing Declaration, a collaborative effort with over 50 countries. This framework focuses on inclusivity, sustainability, and human-centric AI applications.
Taking this vision further, IIHM recently unveiled NamAIste IIHM HospitalityGPT, the world’s first generative AI-powered knowledge engine for the hospitality sector. Designed for students, professionals, and industry stakeholders, the platform provides real-time insights, trends, and best practices tailored to the industry.
Industry icons like Padma Shri awardee Chef Sanjeev Kapoor have applauded these efforts. “Specialized tools like this will define the future of hospitality education,” said Chef Kapoor in a podcast celebrating IIHM’s initiatives.
