In a strategic move cementing its position as a homegrown hospitality powerhouse, Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the acquisition of controlling stakes in two Indian hospitality players; ANK Hotels Private Limited and Pride Hospitality Private Limited, for a combined consideration of up to INR204 crore.
The IHCL board and a specially constituted committee have approved acquiring approximately 51% equity in ANK Hotels, which operates The Clarks Hotels & Resorts brand, for up to INR 110 crore. ANK boasts a portfolio of 111 midscale hotels, 67 of which are operational, and reported revenues of INR 14.32 crore in FY25
IHCL will also take a 51% stake in Pride Hospitality for up to INR 94 crore. Together, these acquisitions significantly strengthen IHCL’s presence in India’s midscale market while aligning with its asset-light growth model. Completion is targeted for November 15, 2025.
The Clarks Hotels & Resorts currently operates 135 hotels across the country, while Pride Hospitality expands IHCL’s reach into high-demand regional markets. In parallel, IHCL has inked a distribution and marketing pact with Brij Hospitality Private Limited, adding 19 boutique properties under the Brij brand to its sales network, reinforcing IHCL’s ambition to be the definitive Indian hospitality giant.
