Cleartrip, a Flipkart company, has introduced Book@0, a new hotel booking feature that allows travellers to reserve hotel rooms without making an upfront payment or entering card details, as online travel platforms increasingly focus on flexible booking options to drive conversions.
The feature is available across more than 7 lakh domestic and international hotels, enabling customers to lock in their preferred hotel and room at ₹0 and complete the payment within a specified period before their stay. The booking remains confirmed without an immediate financial commitment, while travellers can cancel within the eligible window without incurring cancellation charges.
The online travel platform said the offering addresses a key pain point among travellers who prefer to secure accommodation while keeping plans flexible, particularly for advance leisure bookings and international travel where itinerary changes are common.
Commenting on the launch, Akhil Malik, Head – Hotels, Cleartrip, said the feature has been designed to cater to a growing segment of mobile-first travellers, especially Gen Z, who seek greater flexibility before committing financially. He added that the company expects the initiative to encourage more consumers to book hotels online by removing upfront payment barriers.
Book@0 forms part of Cleartrip’s broader strategy to strengthen its hotels business through customer-centric product innovation. The company said it plans to introduce additional features over the next few months aimed at simplifying hotel booking and improving the overall stay experience for Indian travellers.
