Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Mohali, Punjab. The project will be developed as a greenfield venture.
Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “Mohali’s rapid emergence as a prominent IT and commercial hub makes it a strategic growth market for us in Punjab. Additionally, the state’s growing popularity as a destination for weddings and social celebrations aligns well with our expansion strategy in high-potential markets.”
The upcoming 225-key Taj Mohali will offer expansive views of the surrounding green landscape. The hotel will feature multiple dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a specialty restaurant. Guests will also have access to comprehensive leisure and wellness amenities such as a swimming pool, gymnasium, health club, and the brand’s signature J Wellness Circle.
Designed to cater to large-scale events, the hotel will house over 26,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space—the largest in the region—making it an ideal venue for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
A planned city, Mohali is recognised for its modern infrastructure and hosts a strong presence of IT companies, educational institutions, and sports facilities.
With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in Punjab will grow to 14 hotels, including seven currently under development.
