The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort in Sakaleshpur, Karnataka, marking its early entry into an underpenetrated leisure micro-market along the Western Ghats.
Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said Sakaleshpur’s blend of heritage, plantation landscapes and growing tourism potential makes it an attractive destination for experiential and boutique hospitality. She noted that the signing strengthens IHCL’s Tree of Life portfolio while reinforcing its boutique positioning in emerging leisure destinations. The company has partnered with Mystica Retreats LLP for the project.
The upcoming Tree of Life Sakaleshpur will feature 40 keys and is envisioned as a nature-led retreat set amid forests and a perennial stream. In line with the brand’s ethos, the resort will offer an all-day dining restaurant and bar, wellness amenities including a swimming pool, treatment room and yoga space, along with curated guest experiences focused on tranquillity and immersion in nature.
Mystica Retreats LLP partners Sharanabasava Meti and Kemparaju said the collaboration aims to create a distinctive getaway for travellers seeking a quiet escape.
With this signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Karnataka will expand to 34 hotels, including 19 under development.
