IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has signed a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd to develop Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari in south-eastern Nepal. Scheduled to open in 2026, the 99-key hotel will cater to growing demand from business travellers, cross-border trade, and leisure tourism.
This marks the second collaboration between IHG and Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd, following the successful launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha.
Located in Dhulabari, Jhapa District, near the Nepal–India border at Kakarvitta and just a short drive from Chandragadi Domestic Airport, the hotel will offer excellent connectivity for domestic and international guests. Key attractions include the Pathibhara Devi Temple, one of Eastern Nepal’s most revered pilgrimage sites.
Designed under the Holiday Inn Express Generation 5 concept, the property will feature 99 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop dining, banquet facilities, a fitness centre, and ample parking—delivering modern, value-driven hospitality for today’s travellers.
“We are excited to strengthen our presence in Nepal with Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari,” said Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “This project builds on our strong relationship with our partners and reflects our shared vision for growth in high-potential markets.”
Mrs. Binita Thapa Khadka, Chairperson of Hotel Eastern Nepal Ltd, added: “Our successful partnership with IHG made this next step natural. Dhulabari offers immense potential, and with IHG’s expertise, we aim to raise the region’s hospitality standards while contributing to its economic growth.”
With limited branded accommodation in the area, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari is set to become a preferred choice for business, leisure, and MICE events, strengthening IHG’s mainstream portfolio in Nepal.
