In a show of solidarity and hospitality, hotels in Ladakh are offering complimentary stays to tourists stranded due to the cancellation of over 200 flights following Operation Sindoor. This military action, launched in response to the recent Pahalgam attack, targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, leading to heightened security and the closure of key airports.
The All Ladakh Hotel and Guesthouses Association announced that tourists with canceled outbound flights would be accommodated free of charge at their current hotels. “This initiative reflects the core values of Ladakh’s tourism sector, ensuring care and support during unforeseen challenges,” stated the association.
Flight operations were suspended across multiple airports, including Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, and Chandigarh, with cancellations expected until Thursday evening. Domestic airlines have assured passengers of rescheduling options and full refunds.
