The resort, being developed with Himalayan Bliss Spa & Resorts, is scheduled to open in Q4 2028, expanding Marriott’s presence in Uttarakhand.
Marriott International has signed an agreement with Himalayan Bliss Spa & Resorts to develop a 120-room Le Méridien Rishikesh Resort & Spa, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The project will expand Marriott’s presence in Uttarakhand, targeting demand for wellness-led travel, spiritual tourism and cultural experiences.
The resort will feature guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, meeting and event spaces, a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, kids club and activity centre. Its design will combine Le Méridien’s contemporary aesthetic with elements inspired by Rishikesh’s cultural heritage.
Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, said the signing reflected the company’s focus on destinations with cultural and spiritual significance, with Le Méridien’s design and guest experiences intended to encourage a slower pace of travel.
The resort is expected to be located around 20 km from Jolly Grant Airport, with access to attractions including Laxman Jhoola, The Beatles Ashram and Triveni Ghat.
Girish Agarwal, Designated Partner, Himalayan Bliss Spa & Resorts LLP, said the project represented a long-term investment in Uttarakhand’s tourism infrastructure and was expected to generate direct employment and opportunities for local youth.
The development adds to Rishikesh’s hospitality pipeline as the destination attracts travellers seeking spiritual, wellness and leisure experiences.
